Set up and move
- Place your hands on a sturdy elevated surface.
- Step back into a straight line from head to heels.
- Lower the chest toward the surface and press back up.
Three useful cues
- Brace gently
- Chest leads
- Full-body plank
Breathing: Keep breathing continuously. Exhale through the main effort of strength movements; for mobility, use slow, easy breaths and never force the range.
Common misses
- Using an unstable surface
- Shrugging toward the ears
Make it easier
Reduce the demand.
Use a higher surface, such as a wall.
Make it harder
Add one challenge.
Use a lower surface or slow the lowering phase.
When to choose something else
A variation is not a test of toughness.
