Set up and move
- Hold one weight at your side and stand tall near a support if needed.
- March slowly without leaning toward or away from the weight.
- Switch hands halfway through the interval.
Three useful cues
- Stay centered
- Quiet feet
- Breathe normally
Breathing: Keep breathing continuously. Exhale through the main effort of strength movements; for mobility, use slow, easy breaths and never force the range.
Common misses
- Leaning to one side
- Choosing a load that changes posture
Make it easier
Reduce the demand.
Use a lighter weight or keep both feet down and shift weight side to side.
Make it harder
Add one challenge.
March more slowly or add a little time.
When to choose something else
A variation is not a test of toughness.
Skip this movement if it causes sharp pain, dizziness, or symptoms that feel unusual for you. Movement pages provide general technique education and do not determine whether an exercise is appropriate for an injury or health condition.
